For use on:

EPDM rubber roofing: Dicor’s Part 1 Cleaner/Activator Primer (RP-CRP-Q) is required prior to coating.

TPO roofing: Dicor’s TPO Silicone Roof Primer (RP-TPR-Q) is required prior to coating.

Preparation:

Thoroughly mix the contents for a minimum of 5 minutes prior to application. Use plastic sheeting to protect sidewalls and end caps of units. Be sure plastic runs to the ground/floor. All surfaces must be clean and free of residue or loose particles. Surface shall be completely dry and frost free before coating. Deteriorated or damaged substrates shall be repaired or replaced. For coating EPDM roofs, be sure you have rinsed all cleaner/activator from roof prior to applying. For coating TPO roofs, be sure primer has dried for 1-2 hours prior to applying.

Weather Precautions:

Only apply product when the surface and ambient temperatures are between 35° F and 100° F. Do not apply product when the ambient temperature is within 5° F of the dew point. Product should be stored between 50° F and 80° F for 24hrs prior to installation. Cool temperatures and high humidity may slow down the curing process. Do not apply if weather conditions will not permit complete cure before rain, dew or freezing temperatures occur. Open and partially full containers will skin over quickly. If this occurs, remove the skin and continue using the remaining product.

Application:

Be sure EPDM Cleaner/Activator Priming process or the TPO Priming process is complete prior to applying silicone coating. Coating may be applied by medium nap roller or brush. Dicor Silicone Coating shall be applied in a minimum of 2 coats at a rate of 1 gallon/125 sq. ft. per coat (i.e. 8’ X 30’ roof takes 4 gallons). Actual gallons required will depend on the type of surface, texture, method of application and weather conditions at the time of application. All surfaces must be uniformly coated and free from voids, pinholes, or blisters. Allow first coat to dry completely. Application of second coat should be perpendicular to the first coat and at approximate coverage rate and thickness as previous coat. Allow to dry completely.

Post Application Maintenance:

For general upkeep and lap seal maintenance on your Silicone coated roof, use Dicor’s Ultra Sealant in self-leveling or non-leveling application.

Entire coating process MUST be completed in one day, including Priming process and two coats of Silicone Coating, each dry to the touch before proceeding.
